Edition 11: October 2018

Welcome to our eleventh newsletter

It’s been a busy month with lots of news, both in the press and at Hormone Health.

I had the pleasure of presenting at the 10th International Menopause Conference in China. It is always very rewarding to meet my colleagues from around the world and hear the latest news and developments in the management of women’s health. The other notable reflection, is that it still amazes me as to the common challenges that we face whatever continent we practice our medicine.

News

The Times: Hormone therapy: why everything you thought you knew about HRT is wrong
Just how safe is hormone therapy? A new book busts the myth that it gives you cancer.

The Metro: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
One woman describes her experience of life with PMDD, sharing her reasoning for raising awareness of the condition and not letting women suffer in silence when action can be taken to help.

Patient Resource Articles

We have added two articles about Coronary Heart Disease (CHD): Coronary Heart Disease – part 1 and Coronary Heart Disease – part 2. CHD is an important consideration for everyone, as it is the leading single cause of death for both men and women. These articles review the causes, symptoms and treatment of CHD.

Practice News

The waiting list for appointments to see me seems to be getting longer and longer. Luckily, we have a great team of experienced doctors here at Hormone Health. If you would like to have your consultation much sooner, why not book in with one of the Hormone Health Associates.

Our best wishes,

Nick Panay
