Vulval skin problem
The vulva is the area surrounding the opening of a women’s vagina. The vulva includes the labia (inner and outer vaginal lips) and the clitoris.
Many women may experience vulval skin problems which can occur at any age. The most common skin problems include:
- Itching
- Pain
- Soreness
- Change in the skin colour and texture
These symptoms may be caused by a condition that only affects the vulva, but can also be a sign of a more general medical problem or other skin disease. Symptoms may worsen with moisture, heat or rubbing and with using scented products/deodorants such as bubblebath.
