Cervical Cancer Prevention Week 2024
Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is the UK’s leading cervical cancer charity, who campaign for the best in cervical cancer prevention, diagnosis and care as well as providing a range of information and support.
During Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, 22nd – 28th January 2024, the aim is to raise awareness and educate people about cervical cancer, its prevention, and the importance of regular screenings.
About cervical cancer
Cervical cancer is a largely preventable disease, so it is important to prioritise cervical health and take steps to reduce the risk of this cancer.
Did you know…
9 women a day are diagnosed with cervical cancer in the UK, and 2 women a day lose their lives to this disease.
1 in 3 women and people with a cervix do not take up their screening invite

Prioritising cervical health
The key objectives of Cervical Cancer Awareness Week are to raise awareness about cervical cancer, encourage uptake of the HPV vaccination and cervical screening and prioritise cervical cancer as a health policy. Committing to eliminating cervical cancer and developing a holistic strategy that improves and supports cancer prevention programmes, can help stop cervical cancer.
