Shaping the Future of Menopause Care: Professor Nick Panay Joins Global Experts at the 20th World Congress on Menopause

Shaping the Future of Menopause Care

Research continues to shape our understanding of menopause and women’s health, helping clinicians provide more informed, individualised care throughout a woman’s life.

Keeping at the forefront of these developments is central to our approach at Hormone Health. From 30 September to 3 October 2026, Nick Panay, Professor of Practice at Imperial College London, Founder and Director of Hormone Health, will join leading clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals at the 20th World Congress on Menopause in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Hosted by the International Menopause Society (IMS), the Congress provides an important international forum for sharing research, discussing emerging evidence and exploring how advances in menopause medicine can translate into better care for women.

Professor Panay, Immediate Past President of the IMS and an internationally recognised specialist in menopause and women’s health, will be presenting and hosting sessions during the Congress.

Bringing Together Global Expertise in Menopause

The International Menopause Society brings together experts from around the world to advance knowledge and improve healthcare for women during the menopause transition and beyond.

The World Congress provides an opportunity for clinicians and researchers to discuss emerging evidence and consider how new developments can improve menopause and midlife care.

Its scientific programme explores a broad range of issues affecting women’s health, creating an important forum for international discussion and collaboration.

Professor Nick Panay at the World Congress

Professor Panay is internationally recognised for his work in menopause and women’s health. He is a Consultant Gynaecologist with a special interest in Reproductive Medicine, Menopause and Menstrual Disorders and is Immediate Past President of the International Menopause Society.

Alongside his clinical work, Professor Panay leads an active research programme and has authored more than 280 peer-reviewed publications. He regularly presents at national and international conferences as an invited keynote and plenary speaker.

His continued involvement with the International Menopause Society reflects his longstanding commitment to advancing evidence-based menopause care and improving women’s health in the UK and internationally.

At the 20th World Congress on Menopause, Professor Panay will be presenting and hosting sessions as part of the scientific programme, contributing to discussions around the latest developments in menopause and midlife health.

In his plenary session, ‘Premature Ovarian Insufficiency: Latest Update of Global Recommendations’, he will focus on the latest international recommendations surrounding Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI).

POI occurs when the ovaries stop functioning normally before the age of 40 and can have implications for fertility and longer-term health and wellbeing. The session will highlight the importance of keeping clinical guidance up to date as new evidence emerges, supporting informed, evidence-based care for women with POI.

The Congress provides an important opportunity to share the latest evidence and international expertise, helping to advance menopause care and women’s health worldwide.

Leaders in Evidence-Based Women’s Health

Hormone Health was established by Professor Panay in 2012 with a commitment to providing specialist, personalised care for women with hormonal health concerns.

Today, our specialists provide care for women throughout the sexual, reproductive and post-reproductive stages of their lives.

All Hormone Health Specialists have trained with Professor Panay and meet regularly to review clinical issues, helping to maintain consistently high standards of care. Our investigations and treatments are supported by clinical research and guidance from relevant expert academic societies.

This evidence-based approach is combined with personalised care, taking into account each woman’s individual symptoms, medical history, priorities and preferences.

From International Research to Individual Patient Care

International events such as the World Congress on Menopause provide an important opportunity to bring new knowledge and ideas back into everyday clinical practice.

Being actively involved in international research, scientific discussion and collaboration helps our specialists remain at the forefront of developments in menopause medicine and the wider field of women’s health.

Professor Panay’s involvement in the 20th World Congress on Menopause reflects the principles at the heart of Hormone Health: specialist expertise, evidence-based medicine, international collaboration and personalised care.

Ultimately, advances in research are most valuable when they help women better understand their health and support clinicians in providing informed, individualised advice and treatment.
