Vaginisimus
Two women share their story with vaginisimus, a condition in which the body’s automatic reaction to the fear of some or all types of vaginal penetration causes the vaginal muscles to tighten. This can present a number of issues, namely surrounding using tampons and having sex.
It is unclear just how many woman have the condition, as the majority of women who are suffering from sexual problems are reluctant to discuss it. We hope that by sharing stories like this, women will feel more empowered to be able to speak up about their own experiences too, and not suffe in silence.
