BMS 34th Annual Scientific Conference
The 34th Annual Scientific Conference: Menopause: achieving an equilibrium, took place at Chesford Grange on 26–27 June 2025.
Hormone Health Founder and Director, Professor Nick Panay, was honoured to speak at the 34th Annual Scientific Conference hosted by the British Menopause Society (BMS). He presented on the vital topic of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency to raise awareness and advance understanding in this crucial area of women’s health.
Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), defined as loss of ovarian function before age 40 years, is now thought to affect up to 3.7% of women globally. POI occurring spontaneously or secondary to iatrogenic interventions has multiple adverse short and long-term psychological and physical effects including increased morbidity and mortality.
Professor Panay said, “I was delighted to have the opportunity to discuss the updated 2024 ESHRE guideline on Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), developed in collaboration with colleagues from across the international menopause and reproductive health community.
POI remains a significant challenge in clinical practice, and improving diagnosis, management and support for women affected by this condition is an area where we can make real progress.
It is always a pleasure to contribute to this outstanding event and to support the BMS in delivering high-quality, evidence-based education for healthcare professionals.”
Hormone Health Associate, Mary Ann Lumsden, co-chaired The BMS Annual Lecture on Management of Perimenopausal Depression – a key area for discussion.
The Hormone Health team also attended the BMS Conference for what is always a packed programme, providing the opportunity to have meaningful conversations and connect across the post-reproductive healthcare community. The conference provided the chance to hear form leading experts on key topics such as bone health, women’s cardiovascular health, menopause and the pelvis and much more.
